Coronavirus or COVID-19 started spreading into the world at the end of 2019 with its epicenter being Wuhan, China. Slowly and gradually the situation became so much worse than the World Health Organization had to declare it as a pandemic and all the countries around the world are taking measures to fight the novel coronavirus. There is no vaccine for it makes the situation much worse. In these difficult times, we should also think about our own kids and also feel about the emotional situation that they are going through. So, here are a few tips on how to support your kids during the Coronavirus outbreak.

Today there is a situation of lockdown everywhere in the world. And this situation is also impacting our kids. Before we used to take our kids to play outside and have a lot of fun with them but now they are locked in the houses. Also, the state of panic in the atmosphere has also created some sought of fear in the minds of the kids. So, let us help our kids sail through these difficult times and stay safe. Here are a few ways on how to support your kids during Coronavirus outbreak

Check your behavior regarding Coronavirus

During this coronavirus outbreak, adults are also feeling anxious and fearful. But, it is better to keep your fears with you and under control in front of the kids. Because of kids pick up the same emotions that you exhibit. So, if you are scared then your kids will also feel the feer. Children rely on us for their sense of security and hence it is our duty to make them feel comfortable.

Make them feel comfortable

The schools are canceled and all the other outdoor activities like going out to play, or for a vacation have been canceled and so kids are confused and are confined to the house. So, it is very natural for kids to feel sad and depressed. So, you should take out time to talk to them, play with them and encourage them to share there fears and emotions with you and not feel sad. 

Make a routine

Kids love to be in a particular structure and hence, it is the responsibility of us parents to restructure and decide on a particular schedule which includes time to watch the video, playtime, house helping time and technology-free time to enjoy with the family. Also, involve your kids in various other activities to let them feel included and not be bored at home. Also, if the kids are more then 10 years of age you can ask them to create some artwork of their own. If your kid is younger and someone else is watching the kid then you should design the schedule accordingly.

Check the information

In order to reduce the panic and anxiety in your kids, you should definitely make an effort to know what information they have got about the coronavirus pandemic. As there is a lot of misinformation making rounds on WhatsApp and on the internet. So, if your child is having misinformation then when you provide them the correct facts then they mix both the information and get confused and will get more scared.

Distractions are always welcome

In such a situation, it is very important for the kids and adults both to relax. As a result, you should definitely plan a family game or family meal where you can cook with your kids and everyone involved. The plan of a family movie is also a very good option.
