During pregnancy, a woman’s body goes through many changes. Hormonal changes are a big part of it. With hormonal changes comes the most infamous part of pregnancy called the morning sickness. They say that it means that the hormones are changing and the placenta is developing really well. But, it is not true in all cases. So, do not worry if you do not have morning sickness. Morning Sickness usually starts at about 6th week of pregnancy and stops at about 12th week of pregnancy. Slice a lemon

Not just the citrus taste of the lemon, but also the citrus smell of cutting a lemon can help reduce the feeling of nausea. In one research study, a group of women was asked to inhale either almond or lemon essential oil as soon as they felt nauseatic. The group of women who smelled lemon essential oil felt less nauseatic comparatively.

Control your breathing and Relax your muscles

Sometimes having slow, controlled and relaxed breathing can help reduce nausea. In this the women have to breathe in slowly through their nose and let out the air with their mouth. This controlled and relaxed breathing style helps to ease the nausea feeling by relaxing your body muscles. There are also other ways to relax your muscles including Progressive Muscle Relaxation technique in which you need to tense and relax your muscles subsequently to reduce the feeling of nausea.

Taking Vitamin B6 Supplement is considered as an alternative treatment for morning sickness in pregnancy. It is believed that pyridoxine supplement in Vitamin B6 help reduces nausea during pregnancy.

If possible try placing some crackers or light snacks on your bedside. You can have a snack as soon as you wake up and do not feel nauseous.

Acupuncture is done by inserting needles into certain specific points of your body and acupressure works by applying pressure on the same points. Both of these techniques stimulate the nerves and send signals to your brain to reduce nausea and the feeling of morning sickness during pregnancy.

Peppermint Aromatherapy

Peppermint aromatherapy is a very good and effective alternative treatment for the morning sickness in pregnant women. It is said that if a cotton ball infused in the peppermint oil is smelled, it reduces the morning sickness. Also, if inhaled with inhaler it reduces nausea feeling a lot.

Avoid spicy or fatty food

You should try not to eat a lot of oily and fatty foods. Also, try to avoid certain spicy and oily food. It is believed that high protein, carbohydrate-heavy and salty foods like crackers and nuts help keep nausea down.
