Three tips to buy a good baby monitor

  • Security
  • Audio v/s video
  • Frequency of sound

Security

Here we will discuss the security issues of analog and digital baby monitors. Analog baby monitors are less expensive and small in size.  Other baby monitors will receive the signals sent by analog baby monitor. And this may invade your privacy. The digital baby monitors have security measures that can block all the signals sent by another baby monitor or does not send signal to other monitor. So, it is advisable to use the digital baby monitors.

Audio v/s video

Audio monitors are less expensive and are portable and take up less space. Video monitors are of wider range with different lens size, camera and night vision lenses. They take up more space and are costly. Through video monitors you can watch your baby sleep. Today there are also baby monitors that can help you monitor your baby’s vital body signs like the temperature of the baby, room temperature and when your baby will wake up.

Frequency of sound

The most basic baby monitor models run at 49 MHz frequency. The long range ones work at 900 MHz frequency. The digital baby monitors have 1.9 GHz frequency and have the least disturbance and interference.

The flaws of a baby monitor

Like other machines, the baby monitors also have their own flaws. The concrete will block the signals of baby monitors. The baby monitors might pick up signals from your neighbor and vice versa.
